Deputy Minister requested to speed up the progress of package 4.8 of Long Thanh airport
Deputy Minister Pham Minh Ha requested to urgently complete the necessary items of package 4.8 of the Long Thanh International Airport Construction Investment Project Phase 1.
On April 24th, at the Long Thanh International Airport Project Management Unit, Deputy Minister Pham Minh Ha chaired a meeting of the Working Group for the Long Thanh International Airport Construction Investment Project Phase 1.

At the meeting, the investor and contractors reported to Deputy Minister Pham Minh Ha on the progress of implementation difficulties and obstacles in the implementation of the project's packages, focusing on package "4.8 - Intra-port traffic and technical infrastructure"; opinions of specialized agencies under the Ministry and experts of the State Inspection Council on the acceptance of construction works.
Deputy Minister Pham Minh Ha appreciated the efforts of the investor and units to speed up the project's construction progress. However, through actual inspection at the construction site, it was found that some important underground items of the package such as technical tunnels (technical pipes) and box culverts are at risk of being behind schedule.
Contractors are mobilizing a lot of human resources and equipment to construct the underground part of package 4.8 (internal port traffic and technical infrastructure) in front of Long Thanh airport terminal.
The Deputy Minister requested the investor and contractor to continue to proactively seek supply sources and increase material exploitation capacity, and review the progress of items and tasks that must be completed before June 30th and December 31st.
He also requested that the investor to seriously direct contractors to mobilize maximum human resources and equipment to promptly complete the technical tunnel system and drainage system, especially focusing on completing the intersection areas with package 4.9 (fuel supply system) and package 5.10 (passenger terminal). Urgently complete the construction of underground items in the area in front of the station before the rainy season to ensure the construction site, minimizing conflicts when constructing items of the station package, the parking lot package and the overpass item of package 4.8. The Deputy Minister requested that specialized agencies under the Ministry regularly inspect, urge and coordinate with investors to promptly resolve difficulties and problems during the implementation process, ensuring compliance with legal regulations,project quality and schedule.
