In 2020, the district attracts 13 investment projects, including 8 projects of tourism services, 1 project of logistics and logistics services, 1 project of agricultural production, 1 project of petroleum business. , gas, 1 project to treat domestic waste and 1 project to exploit sand and gravel.

However, besides the positive results, investment promotion activities in the district still have some shortcomings such as the simple construction of project information, not meeting the needs of investors. Many projects do not have a clear location, the total investment has not been estimated, the scale and area proposed by investors are not certain.

The construction of information and communication system on investment promotion between the locality and the province is not synchronized, making the state management in investment promotion still difficult.In the coming time, Gio Linh district will focus on attracting investment in industrial production fields such as solar power, shipbuilding industry, seafood processing; projects in the fields of hi-tech agriculture, services, tourism ... It is expected that the district will focus on calling for 9 projects to invest in these fields in the period from 2021 - 2025 with a total capital of more than 100 billion VND.

To achieve this goal, Gio Linh district continues to improve the investment environment, step up the reform of administrative procedures, enhance the promotion, introduce the potentials and advantages of the district, and encourage businesses to invest. investment in scaling and depth.
