Workshop consulting orientation of national technical standard in construction

Basically, representatives of ministries, branches and experts from the associations and training institutions in the construction industry agreed with the plan to renovate the standard system and construction technical regulations. However, many experts still contributed valuable ideas to the Ministry of Construction to complete the in the best way.

Conclusion of the workshop, Deputy Minister of Construction Le Quang Hung said that basically the opinions were agreed to change the current standards so that it can be fit with reality. However, the change must follow a road map which cannot erase the entire old standards.

In the past 20 years, the Vietnamese market has fully adopted the old standards, but there has never been a specific assessment of its application. Therefore, the Ministry of Construction has assigned the Department of Construction Management to carry out a review and propose a suitable standards for the current Vietnamese market.

Regarding the new system roadmap, the Ministry of Construction will both maintain the current system and build a new one. After the new system is commonly used, the Ministry of Construction will plan to remove the old standards. In addition, the Ministry of Construction will work with the Ministry of Science and Technology to find out solutions of the new standards to ensure the legality to apply in practice.
