Plan International Vietnam awarded more than VND 10.5 billion for post-flood reconstruction and assistance to Quang Tri province

The representative of Plan International Vietnam said that, as soon as it learned that the floods caused heavy damage in Quang Tri, Plan International had approved a support package worth nearly 1.8 billion VND to provide emergency assistance to to help people in flooded areas in Dakrong, Huong Hoa, Trieu Phong and TP districts. Dong Ha overcomes the consequences of floods. From November 2020 to April 2021, Plan International implemented a flood assistance and reconstruction project in 15 communes of Dakrong and Huong Hoa districts with a total budget of more than 13 billion VND. In which the committed amount is more than 10.5 billion and is calling more than 2.5 billion.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam expressed his gratitude to the people of Quang Tri and expressed his appreciation for the timely support of Plan International.

On this occasion, the Board of Directors of Plan International Vietnam introduced Mr. Nguyen Tran Nguyen to hold the position of Plan International Project Area Manager in Quang Tri province, instead of Mr. Phan Dinh Hiep, who moved to the National Plan Office.

Plan International is an international humanitarian non-governmental organization that fosters a community focused on children. In Quang Tri, this organization is a traditional partner, cooperating since 1996 in Cam Lo, Gio Linh and Vinh Linh districts. Currently the program is mainly concentrated in two districts of Huong Hoa and Dakrong, the provincial partners and the disaster prevention component in Trieu Phong district.

The total value of Plan International to support the province from 1996 up to now is VND 360 billion, excluding emergency assistance.
